The island of Bornholm is perfectly suitable for cycling holidays as it offers pure holiday feeling! Cycle through this amazing Scandinavian landscape and get to know the real island life. Barely any traffic, more than 150 kilometers of well-developed bike paths and impressive coastal landscapes. The daily routes are designed to allow plenty of time to relax on the beach and explore the island's quaint little towns. An added bonus: Bornholm has the most sunshine in Denmark!

Day 1: Individual arrival to Rønne ca. 10 km

Spend some time in Rønne, Bornholm's largest city, before starting your bike trip north towards Hasle. The route along the western coast offers fantastic scenery as you cycle through the beautiful Nordskov (North Forest). Along the way we recommend to stop at Rubinsøen (The Ruby Lake) for a refreshing pause.

Day 2: Hasle Sogn loop tour ca. 25 km

Today you will explore the fishing villages of Helligpeder, Teglkås and Jons Kapel before you reach the legendary cliff formation on Bornholm's West Coast. Make sure to take pictures! Afterwards you will also see the lovely village of Vang before you head back to your hotel.

Day 3: Hasle Sogn - Allinge ca. 25 km

You continue your tour to Sandvig and on to Allinge, where you will stay overnight for two nights. We recommend you to cycle via Opal Søen (The Opal Lake) and Hammerknuden, as it is worth a stop to experience the magnificent scenery.

Day 4: Alinge - Hammerhus - Alinge ca. 25 km

Hammerhavn is awaiting you today, as well as Hammershus with its new experience centre. Explore the rocky coastline and enjoy the cozy maritime twin towns, Allinge-Sandvig.

Day 5: Allinge - Snogebæk ca. 50 km

Look forward to cycle from the rocky coastline to the sandy shores of the south, following paths along the eastern coastline. It is recommended to cycle down through Gudhjem, which with its Mediterranean atmosphere buzzes with charm. It has many small shops with Bornholm delicacies/sweets and eateries, as well as a fantastic harbour environment, and is well worth a visit. From here, the journey continues southwards further along the rocky coast. Perhaps stop for lunch in Svaneke, which has several good restaurants. Alternatively grab a sandwich or enjoy a packed lunch on the harbor. If you are not hungry yet, then perhaps wait and eat a smoked herring in Årsdale, a small old fishing village, located between Svaneke and Nexø. Reaching Snogebæk in the evening where you will stay overnight for three nights.

Day 6 & 7: South Bornholm ca. 25 km

Spend the days on the lovely Balka Beach, take a bicycle ride to the Paradise Hills, Nexø or Dueodde, and perhaps end your trip with a nice restaurant visit as you enjoy the southern summer atmosphere in Snogebæk.

Day 8: South Bornholm - Rønne and departure ca. 35 km

After 7 nights on Bornholm, the last stage of the journey will take you back to the ferry in Rønne, if you do not choose to extend your holiday with one or maybe several days on the rocky island. It is a ca. 35 km journey, where you can choose different routes depending on ferry times and desired time spent. For example, you can cycle along the southwestern coast with a stop at Slusegård - water mill and archaeological excavations. Here, where the CET Date Line passes, you will also find Café Slusegård. You can also travel through the Paradise Hills and from there to Almindingen Forest where you can visit Rytterknægten and Ekkodalen along the way.
